Green Energy FAQ

Structure of twin coil cylinder.

TWIN COIL CYLINDERS
![]()
For solar and heat pumps you will need a different cylinder to those traditionally used in the home as these need to become more of a heat store, therefore making them bigger in size.
The required size will depend on the hot water demand but they usually start from 550mm width by 1200mm height.
A twin coil cylinder is necessary for use with solar energy as one coil will be receiving the heat from the collector on the roof and the other coil is used to supply heat from the other main heat source when solar energy is insufficient.
Greenworks offers a range of both vented and unvented cylinders so we can offer a hot water storage solution for any pressure requirement in the UK.
Our ranges of unvented cylinders offer fantastic flow rates, assured reliability and extremely low running costs. This allows flexible mains pressure hot water distribution to multiple points throughout the home.
