WATER CONSERVATION

The UK Government is implementing legislation to tackle this growing issue. The criteria set out in the Code for Sustainable Homes legislation establishes a national standard for the sustainable and eco friendly design and construction of new homes, and sets minimum standards for energy and water consumption.
The Code introduces a one to six star sustainability rating system for water efficiency.
The overall aim is to reduce the level of water wasted and consumed in the home. The main cause of water waste in the home is down to old and wasteful sanitaryware such as toilets, baths and taps which were installed in years past when water conservation wasn’t a key issue in new home builds.
